Victorian Government Business Support Package
Business Support Fund – Expansion $10,000 – Sep-20
As a reminder, we want to ensure that you have actioned the Victorian Government’s expanded Business Support Fund additional grant that was bought in to support businesses impacted by Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne and Stage 3 restrictions in Regional Victoria for the additional grants that are available as follows;
- $10,000 for employer businesses in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire
- Applicants who have already received the $5,000 expansion funding in July 2020 will automatically receive an additional top-up payment of $5,000
- New applicants will receive the full $10,000 expansion funding grant
- $5,000 for employer businesses in regional Victoria
Businesses that have already received a Business Support Fund Expansion grant (July 2020) or applied for one will not need to re-apply. Successful applications will automatically receive this additional funding allocation. However, if you have not received this grant previously then you will need to lodge an application which can be made up to the closing date of 14 September 2020.
Please note the eligibility criteria for this round of funding has been widened from the previous funding in June 2020. The eligibility criteria for this round of funding is as follows;
- Must be a Victorian business and be a participant in the JobKeeper scheme and
- Must employ staff and have an annual payroll of less than $3,000,000 and
- Must hold an ABN and be registered for GST as at 30 June 2020
- Owners of businesses that do not employee staff are not eligible for this funding

Please note, a number of businesses that didn’t qualify for the first-round grant (June 2020) will most probably now qualify for this additional grant (provided you are a participant in the JobKeeper scheme) with the payroll threshold being increased from $650,000 to $3,000,000.
