unnamedOur new service offering follows on the back of new laws recently introduced governing the provision of SMSF Advice by Accountants.

From 1 July 2016, the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) requires all accountants who work in the area of SMSFs and provide their clients with any form of superannuation and strategic advice to be formally licensed with ASIC. In accordance with this requirement, we are pleased to announce that Mitchell Financial Group (AR No: 001245258) has completed the regulatory licensing requirements and is now licensed with Unison Wealth Management (AFSL No: 28621) and is able to provide all of your SMSF advisory services and investment structuring advice.

As your financial adviser we are able to provide you with expert strategic advice in respect of SMSF’s and other investment structures (through our business partners).

Please note, as part of these new regulations any strategic advice provided will require the issue of a formal Statement of Advice (SoA) or for continuing advice a Record of Advice (RoA).

These new ASIC requirements provide Mitchell Financial Group with the opportunity to deliver a comprehensive service to our clients who either have an existing SMSF, or are considering establishing an SMSF or structuring investments outside of superannuation.

Please note that there is no change to the nature of the ongoing annual SMSF accounting, tax, audit and compliance work that will continue to be provided by Mitchell Partners. These services are governed by our Chartered Accountants registration and Tax Agents licence and are not subject to the new ASIC investment advice licensing requirements.
